CanJam at RMAF 2012: Exit Level Audio Annapurna Single-Ended Tube Headphone Amplifier

Exit Level Audio Annapurna Single-Ended Tube Headphone Amplifier ($6000)
Tony Landry is making the big step into becoming an audio manufacturer and introduced his Annapurna headphone amp at RMAF. Big kudos to you, sir!
The Annapurna is single gain-stage, single-ended amp designed around the Emission Labs 20b DHT (Directly Heated Triode) tube, which Landry claims is a very linear device. The tubes get their juice from constant current sources and are set up in a Loftin-White configuration. Lundahl transformers are used for the input, the output transformer is custom wound by Electra-Print in Las Vegas, Nevada. Various output impedance taps can be custom ordered.
Landry also had a DIY CD player and DAC on his table with hand-made wooden cases. I found it wonderfully refreshing to see gear born of blood, sweat, and tears exhibited at CanJam. This is an activity born in the hearts of enthusiasts, and I just love to see the line between hobby and commerce blurred...I wish it were more blurry.
You can read the detail about this lovely piece on the Final Exit Audio Annapurna product page.
