CanJam at RMAF 2012 Show Highlight: Fun with Audeze

Fun with Audeze!!!
The folks at Audeze were having a grand old time at RMAF this year. Their success with the LCD-2 and LCD-3 well in hand, they seemed to be in it this year to have a good time and entertain the crowd.
Two one-off cans were on display: A very cool streampunked LCD-3 was crafted by Ugly Bill (aka Piecemaker aka Special Technique), and a pair of Jecklin Floats with LCD-2 transplanted drivers owned by Kavi Alexander of Waterlily Acoustics. Not sure either of them would be comfortable for long listening sessions, but they sure were fun to see.
Also on display for both eyes and ears was a new prototype sealed planar magnetic headphone. It's bound to be a real challenge to develop, sealed headphones are notoriously difficult to get right, but I reckon Alex, Sankar, and the troops at Audeze are up to the task.
The really cool news I heard from Audeze was that they've moved into a new manufacturing facility, and now (with the exception of the wood parts manufacture, which would create a lot of dust) their entire manufacturing process is under one roof. This is terrific news as it means they will have much tighter control of the manufacturing process and Audeze will have have an avenue for ever improving quality of manufacture. It's great fun to see this company blossom.
Check out Audeze's fine line of headphones at their website. You can read my review of the LCD-2 and LCD-3 here.
