Headphones.com Sponsors "Silent Disco" at "Gathering of the Vibes" Festival.

It's starting to happen more and more. A silent disco is where the DJ plays music that is sent to an FM transmitter, and dancers wear headphones tied to FM radios. Sometimes two DJs spin discs and compete for the most people tuned in. I suppose you can tell who's winning by the beat of the bobbing crowd. I think it sounds like fun.

Evidently, so do the folks at Headphones.com who sponsored this year's silent disco at the 16th annual "Gathering of the Vibes" music festival --- a festival/party inspired by the spirit of the Greatful Dead. The disco started at 1:00 am and lasting 'til sun-up. Some 500 or more sweating partiers danced like mad while onlookers watched the silent hoard. Headphones.com gave away t-shirts and other shwag, and had listening stations set up for folks to sample a quality headphone experience.

Nice job, Headphones.com. Way to get out there and pimp the goodness of headphones to the masses! And damn, that sounds like a whole lot of fun.

Ick, those demo headphones must have been pretty sweaty by the end of the night.
