CanJam at RMAF2016: Radius IEM Product Line

Right at the end of the show, I got a text from my boss asking me to be sure to have a listen to the Radius IEMs. Man, I had about had it with IEMs at that point; there were a lot of them at the show. But I had never heard of Radius, and you don't find new things unless you're willing keep trying to find them, so I went over to their booth. And boy am I glad I did, their stuff sounded very nicely balanced throughout the entire line-up.

Thanks for the tip, Keith!

Their flagship HP-TWF41 (~$420) dual driver IEM couples a beryllium coated TPE electro-dynamic driver for mids and lows mounted behind a piezoelectric ceramic tweeter able to deliver high frequency extension to a claimed 45kHz, allowing it to be Hi-Res Audio certified. The sound was smooth and very well balanced.

More impressive was as I listened to the entire line one to the next, the similarity and neutral balance of all the headphones was remarkable. I've fooled myself at trade shows before, but the entire line of IEMs all the way down to the $99 model sounded refreshingly good. I asked them to send me everything they had.

I've actually tested the Radius HP-TWF41 against the Dynamic Motion DM200H about 2 weeks ago when I was at E Earohone Akihabara in Tokyo. I must say it's darn good sounding but I purchased the DM200H instead for it's superior sound quality and end to end frequency extension. If not for the amazing sound of the DM200H, I would have purchased the Radius HP-TWF41.

I stopped by their table too. They have two small lightning connected DACs, one line powered and one battery. No adapter needed; they connect directly to a lightning port. They also have a number of lightning connected IEMs.
