Sennheiser launches New MOMENTUM Wireless Over Ear

“The quantity of motion of a moving body, measured as a product of its mass and velocity.”

Seems the German headphone powerhouse is building on, well… momentum, with the introduction of its third generation MOMENTUM over-ear wireless headphone.

Featuring auto ON/OFF (activation when unfolded) and Smart Pause features (auto-sensing Pause and Play when taken off or put back on), the $399 USD MOMENTUM over-ear is available in black now, with a white variant coming in November 2019.

This latest iteration comes with one-touch access to voice assistants such as Siri and Google Assistant, and according to the company, Amazon Alexa integration is in the works via firmware update through the Sennheiser Smart Control application.

Equipped with 42mm dynamic drivers, a claimed 17-hour battery life, Bluetooth 5 (aptXTM, AAC, SBC aptXTM Low Latency) and active noise cancellation for the ability to “allow listeners to experience their audio on their terms, by either blocking out the world or staying aware of their environment” via the Transparent Hearing function.

The chassis design is a simple, no-nonsense one comprised of lightweight stainless-steel sliders “ensuring the headphones remain robust enough for a lifetime of listening on the move.” The MOMENTUM’s folding headband allows them to be stowed in the provided semi-rigid fabric carrying case.
