The most modified headphone in the hobby, now modified by its maker. A terrific job, and done in a way virtually impossible for DIYers to achieve, but continues to allow similar modifications as the previous model.
It seems to me hobbyists have an excellent new starting platform for another round of modding!
Having printed out the measurements for all 41 Do-It-Yourself modified headphones sent to me over the past year, I spread them out over my kitchen table and set to work picking the best and worst measuring of the bunch. I also picked what I thought were the coolest looking headphones. And I scrounged around my lab looking for all the headphones I might give away as prizes.
A couple of weeks ago Head-Fi DIYer Kojaku sent in a pair of heavily modded Grado SR225i headphones. I'm not really a fan of Grados ... okay, I really dislike them, but these modded cans were very good. The best sounding Grados I've had the pleasure of hearing.
