When my daughter and I make pizza, we have a little routine of listening to music on MOG and alternating our picks --- neither of us can take the other's music continuously. But when I played "Pump Up The Jam" by The Lost Fingers, she wanted to hear the entire "Lost in the 80s" album.

The Lost Fingers are now a recurring presence during our culinary adventures.

I really wanted to objectively show break-in effects were measurable and audible.

"Desire," says the Buddha, "is the source of our suffering."

Guess I'm not going to get what I want, I'll just have to stop wanting it.

Wanna see what I did get?

Steve Guttenberg and I had an interesting talk abut how we use headphones for movie and TV watching a little while ago. Quite a few nooks and crannies in this somewhat underserved area of headphone listening. He thought it would be a worthwhile write-up.

Let's have a look at Steve's thoughts ... I've added some of my own at the end of his piece.

Woohoo! Happy New Year! With my employ here at InnerFidelity I felt pretty good about 2011. But as I'm slowly but surely getting in sync with the job, I'm feeling better and better about 2012 and what it will bring.

Let's take a quick recap December measurements, and a look forward to the new year.

At it hot and heavy in the lab setting up amp measurements. Started with Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise vs. Frequency tests. Sent electrons whirling through a handfull of amps to see what the numbers said.

Wanna see?

Musicians often take journeys in their career, but few have traveled from the jungles of the Congo, to gigs with Erykah Badu and Sergio Mendez.

Lets take a trip.

Months go by like weeks now. It's either because I love this job, or that I'm not writing enough posts between Updates. Probably both, but that's okay. I'll get faster because I love this job.

Let's see what's up with InnerFidelity this month...

Have you ever had the experience of looking at something, and your brain can't figure out what it is, and you stare but can not perceive?

"Otra Sanata" is something like that.

I don't want to break my arm patting myself on the back or anything, but heck, I do have a category for news.

And I reckon being mentioned in the NY Times is a bit of good news.

When I first saw the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Solo ($199 MSRP) I thought they might be the most beautiful headphones I’d ever seen. The fit and finish is stellar; the styling superb; they fold beautifully; the cable is pure sex; they’re comfortable … the Solos are just gorgeous. At the time I thought, “These may be the headphone of the year!”

Except for one little thing …

Headphone enthusiasm is alive and well in Japan! Fujia AVIC, an electronics on-line and brick-and-mortar retailer in Tokyo, organizes a bi-annual headphone festival that is headphone otaku at it's finest.

October has come and gone ... way too fast. CanJam at RMAF was fun, but you've read about that by now. Let's see what else happened in the lab.

I'm making ready to head off to RMAF, but I certainly didn't want to shirk my duties measuring Stax headphones, and getting them back to their rightful owners.

Here we go ...
